Bjorn Wilke

Bjorn Wilke entered the music scene in 1994 and hasn't gone unnoticed so far: His international DJ Career started behind the decks at the famous Space on Ibiza (1996-1998) where he was one of the residents bringing up the spirit of the legendary terrace. This was the foundation for the steadily growing attention at home and abroad. Bjorn’s dedication for good music and his perfectionism to create an outstanding set every single night have made him to a vital part in the international club scene. As soon as Bjorn starts his set you automatically start moving as you can feel the groove at your heart. His hypnotic sounds will guide you and take you out for a ride where your body follows the driving sounds. Bjorn’s likes to play in smaller clubs where he can feel the feedback of the crowd.

His sets are often longer than 5 hours and rarely faster than 126 bpm, a steady rolling music that you experience and not only listen to. With his high level of professionalism and the “will to improve” as well as the never lasting search for innovative sound and new techniques he played in more than 20 countries at various outstanding locations: floats (Loveparade - Berlin, Streetparade - Zurich or Cityparade - Gent e.g.), boats and yachts (Thaibreak - South China Sea, Partysan Yachting - Turkey e.g.), mountaintops of the Alps (Rave on Snow – Austria) or the Rocky Mountains.

Moreover he pounded the floors for Marlboro Tours and played on all popular open-air events throughout Germany and Europe. US-tours and gigs in the top clubs of Europe are on Bjorn’s list as well – a list, which is extending constantly. 1998 was the green light for his expected career as a producer. Since then his remixes and releases can be found on labels like Level Non Zero, Hypnotic, My Best Friend (MBF), Kung Fu Dub, Azuli, Plastic Fantastic, Session Deluxe, Traum Schallplatten and of course Hablando (managed and owned by Bjorn himself until 2005 and featuring acts like the Chicken Lips, Joeski, Andry Nalin, Jay Tripwire, Parick Turner, Mazi and many more). Besides this Bjorn’s releases have been pushed constantly by acts like Pascal FEOS, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Timo Maas - to name a few - and moved critics and crowds alike. Not least his collaborations with acts like Jimmy Somerville (Bjorn partly produced his last album and finished two highly awarded world class remixes for him on BMG Music) or Mike Vath, the charismatic brother of Sven Vath made him to a worldwide- recognized artist. In autumn 2007 Bjorn relocated from Frankfurt to Sydney.

Beside his own radio show on Pulseradio, which is broadcasted weekly for 2 hours, he focuses his new company "Kaato". Kaato as an artist agency will represent some of the most sought European artists throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. The inhouse label „Kaato Music“ will be launched in 2008 and features highly anticipated single releases, plus a brandnew compilation mixed by Bjorn himself. So watch his journey...
